Network Security

On the Brink of a Breach?

What to do if you think your network has been breached. Many businesses don’t know how to properly respond to data breaches, which can leave sensitive data exposed and compromised for even longer periods of time. A security breach is defined as an accidental exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized third party.

We recommend that all monitors face away from clients, and that your computer gets locked anytime you step away from your desk. You should also set password requirements and educate staff members on proper security procedures. Some tips that we suggest for password protection are creating alpha-numeric passwords that do not resemble words, use a program such as LastPass to help you remember your passwords, and never write down a password with pen and paper.
